In 1937, when Toyota began, they established the roots of the organization that Toyota has come to be today. This was the year Of Mice and Men was published, Franklin D. Roosevelt was sworn into office, and Amelia Earhart made her first attempt to fly around the world. 2. Toyota moved to America in 1957. In 1957, a gallon of gas was about 24 cents, a new house would cost you a little over twelve thousand dollars, and a dozen eggs would run about 28 cents. 3. In 2011, Toyota was ranked the third largest car manufacturer in the world. Toyota has grown a substantial amount over the years. It now ranks as one of the top automobile manufacturers in the world. U.S. Military Will Test Toyota Land Cruiser for Special Ops Within the United States military hierarchy, there is no force more hardcore than the Unites States Special Operations Command (SOCOM). An elite group of operators made up of Navy SEALs, Army Rangers, Marine Raiders, Army Green Berets, Delta Force and more, these men are the best of the best and trained to take it to the limit and beyond. When a mission must be accomplished there are few groups more capable than U.S. Special Forces and high-risk missions require specialized tools that may now include refitted Toyota Land Cruiser and Toyota Hilux models. News that the U.S. Military will test the Toyota Land Cruiser for Special Ops is a testament to the power, performance, quality and durability of the Toyota Land Cruiser. more Why Did U.S. Special Forces Choose the Toyota Land Cruiser? Few models across the globe possess the off-road pedigree and capability of the Toyota Land Cruiser. Current Toyota Land Cruiser models are an amalgamation of luxury and off-road performance in a tough, durable package. Toyota Land Cruiser models that will be employed by U.S. Special Forces will forego the luxury amenities. At its most basic design levels, the Toyota Land Cruiser fits the needs of the United States Special Operations Command. A number of Toyota Hilux pickup trucks -- a version of the 2016 Toyota Tacoma -- will be put into service as well. A majority of the Toyota Land Cruiser editions that are expected to be employed by U.S. Special Forces groups will include Toyota Land Cruiser 76 and Toyota Land Cruiser 79 models. A popular and durable model that caters to drivers in rugged climates, these editions will allow operators to blend in with the crowd when on mission and not draw attention to themselves.
