2018 Toyota Highlander vs. 2018 Toyota Sequoia

If you’re looking for an SUV, there are several lines to choose from in the Greensburg, PA area. Two strong contenders are the 2018 Toyota Sequoia and Toyota Highlander. Knowing which one is right for you can be a difficult choice. Here are some things to consider when looking at these two SUVs. Toyota SUV Performance The Toyota Sequoia is a bigger SUV than the Toyota Highlander. As such, they have very different engines. The Sequoia’s 381 horsepower V-8 can tow up to 7,400 pounds. The smaller Highlander has a 185 horsepower 4-cylinder to tow up to 5,000 pounds. This alone might give Greensburg SUV buyers enough to go on, if their goal is an SUV with lots of power. However, with the engine size difference comes different fuel efficiency. The Sequoia gets 13 mpg city/17 mpg highway*, while the Highlander gets 20 mpg city/25 mpg highway*. Toyota SUV Cargo Space Because the Sequoia is bigger, it has more cargo space than the Highlander. While the Highlander still has a very large space for cargo at 83.7 cubic feet behind the front row, the Sequoia has an enormous advantage with 120.1 cubic feet. This goes down a bit behind the second row to 66.6 with the Sequoia versus the Highlander’s 42.3 cubic feet. The third row, where the cargo space is mostly used on a day-to-day basis, is even closer. The Sequoia’s 18.9 cubic feet is still bigger than the Highlander’s 13.8 cubic feet, but there are days when that won’t even matter. Each SUV seats eight, but there is more comfort in the Sequoia, again due to size. The 2018 Sequoia and the 2018 Highlander have significant differences in some areas. Whether you are more likely to need or want the mass of the Sequoia or are fine with the more diminutive Highlander and its better fuel efficiency may come into play with your decision. If you are interested in finding out more about the 2018 Toyota Sequoia or the 2018 Toyota Highlander and are in the Greensburg, PA area, visit Toyota of Greensburg to set up a test drive today. *Based on EPA mileage ratings. Use for comparison purposes only. Your mileage will vary depending on how you drive and maintain your vehicle, driving conditions and other factors.

Prepare Your Toyota For Summer

Summer's heat, dust, and stop-and-go traffic, will take their toll on your vehicle. Add the effects of last winter, and you could be poised for a breakdown. You can lessen the odds of mechanical failure through periodic maintenance... Your vehicle should last longer and command a higher resale price, too! Some of the following tips are easy to do; others require a skilled auto technician like the ones found at Toyota of Greensburg. Air Conditioning A marginally operating system will fail in hot weather. Have the system examined by a qualified technician. Newer models have cabin air filters that clean the air entering the heating and air conditioning system. Check your owner's manual for location and replacement interval. Cooling System The greatest cause of summer breakdowns is overheating. The cooling system should be completely flushed and refilled about every 24 months. The level, condition, and concentration of the coolant should be checked periodically. (A 50/50 mix of antifreeze and water is usually recommended.) DIYers, never remove the radiator cap until the engine has thoroughly cooled! The tightness and condition of drive belts, clamps, and hoses should be checked by a pro. Oil & Engine Performance Change your oil and oil filter as specified in your manual more often (every 3,000 miles) if you make frequent short jaunts, extended trips with lots of luggage, or tow a trailer.Replace other filters (air, fuel, PCV, etc.) as recommended more often in dusty conditions. Get engine driveability problems (hard starts, rough idling, stalling, diminished power, etc.) corrected at a good shop. Tires & Brakes Have your tires rotated about every 5,000 miles. Check tire pressures once a month; check them while they're cold before driving for any distance. Don't forget to check your spare as well and be sure the jack is in good condition. Examine tires for tread life, uneven wearing, and cupping; check the sidewalls for cuts and nicks. An alignment is warranted if there's uneven tread wear or if your vehicle pulls to one side.Brakes should be inspected as recommended in your manual, or sooner if you notice pulsations, grabbing, noises, or longer stopping distance. Minor brake problems should be corrected promptly. Battery Batteries can fail any time of year. The only accurate way to detect a weak battery is with professional equipment. Routine care: Scrape away corrosion from posts and cable connections; clean all surfaces; re-tighten all connections. If battery caps are removable, check the fluid level monthly. Avoid contact with corrosive deposits and battery acid. Wear eye protection and rubber gloves.

Team Toyota Athlete Rico Roman Is Going Places

On Sunday, March 18th Team USA and Team Toyota's Rico Roman brought home the gold medal during the closing day of Paralympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018. It will be the second gold medal that Roman has received during his time with the USA sled hockey team. Roman is a strong forward player for the team, but he wasn't always making moves out on the ice. Roman is actually a retired United States Army Staff Sergeant and Purple Heart recipient. Having to have his left leg amputated above the knee when he was badly wounded by an IED during his third tour in Iraq in 2007. But Roman did not let his perseverance falter. He worked hard to train and compete in the Paralympic Games - all leading to his gold medal wins. Roman speaks on his experience getting into the sled hockey game. Plus, why he felt like Team Toyota was a perfect fit for him thanks to the Toyota Tacoma. One big draw for him being the fact that not only can the Tacoma handle any kind of road conditions but also that it can handle a big bag of smelly hockey gear riding in the back as well. This makes the Tacoma a perfect fit for anyone who enjoys their freedom behind the wheel to get where they need to be with their gear safely stowed in the back. Roman exudes the Team Toyota spirit of "Let's Go Places" because he isn't afraid to go out of his comfort zone to achieve his goals. Here at Toyota of Greensburg we're proud to have Rico Roman representing the Toyota name and to have him on our team. Watch Rico's Move Like A Team Toyota Athlete Video

Team Toyota Chloe Kim Wins Gold

Snowboarder Chloe Kim has won the Olympic Gold Medal in women's halfpipe. On the 13th of February she was the first Team Toyota athlete to medal in the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. At only 17 years old Chloe is considered as one of the best female snowboarders of our time. She ended up winning with a score of 98.25 - no other competitor in her class came anywhere close. "Going to my third run I knew I had the gold," Kim said. "But I also knew I wouldn't be satisfied taking the gold and knowing that I hadn't put down my best. That third run was for me — to put down the best run I could do." After scoring just below the 100 mark, Kim said the run wasn't quite perfect — but we'll note that it was closer to perfection than anything the thousands of spectators and media had ever seen. We just wanted to send a big congrats to Chloe Kim from us here at Toyota of Greensburg! Thanks for being such an awesome representation of not only the United States but of everyone at Toyota as well. Arriving late spring 2018, the all-new 2019 Toyota Avalon makes a statement wherever you go. An unforgettable design. A dynamic driving experience. And here at Toyota of Greensburg, we could not be more excited to get this vehicle in stock. Mounted at the head of the Avalon are optional LED headlights and new adaptive cornering lights. Toyota is also offering two front fascia treatments depending on the model - luxury or sport. Making this new V-6 engine more powerful than that of previous years.
