Team Toyota Chloe Kim Wins Gold
Snowboarder Chloe Kim has won the Olympic Gold Medal in women’s halfpipe. On the 13th of February she was the first Team Toyota athlete to medal in the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. At only 17 years old Chloe is considered as one of the best female snowboarders of our time. She ended up winning with a score of 98.25 – no other competitor in her class came anywhere close.
“Going to my third run I knew I had the gold,” Kim said. “But I also knew I wouldn’t be satisfied taking the gold and knowing that I hadn’t put down my best. That third run was for me — to put down the best run I could do.”
After scoring just below the 100 mark, Kim said the run wasn’t quite perfect — but we’ll note that it was closer to perfection than anything the thousands of spectators and media had ever seen. We just wanted to send a big congrats to Chloe Kim from us here at Toyota of Greensburg! Thanks for being such an awesome representation of not only the United States but of everyone at Toyota as well.

Arriving late spring 2018, the all-new 2019 Toyota Avalon makes a statement wherever you go. An unforgettable design. A dynamic driving experience. And here at Toyota of Greensburg, we could not be more excited to get this vehicle in stock.
Avalon Facelift
The Toyota Avalon underwent some major design changes for the 2019 year – looking to shake up the sedan long standing status quo when it comes to looks. The wheelbase has grown by 2.0 inches, but the overall height of the 2019 Avalon has increased by less than an inch; making the new Avalon wider and lower to the ground. Mounted at the head of the Avalon are optional LED headlights and new adaptive cornering lights. Toyota is also offering two front fascia treatments depending on the model – luxury or sport. As for the backend, Toyota has added quad exhaust tips for the first time ever and sequential turn signals are a new flourish.

Power Packed
The new 2018 Toyota Avalon is also offering drivers the choice between a V-6 engine or a hybrid. If you go with the 3.5-liter V-6 you’ll be getting a new eight-speed automatic transmission, rather than the previous six. You’ll also be getting 301 horsepower and 267 lb-ft. Making this new V-6 engine more powerful than that of previous years. And it seems Toyota is all about giving drivers choices for the 2019 model lineup because the new Avalon also gives you the choice between a luxury or sport trim level. Pretty well making sure that the Avalon has features that will tickle any drivers fancy.
Tech Savvy
As for the inside tech, you can expect to see things like Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa adaptability, and more. The 2019 Avalon’s infotainment system features a 9.0-inch touchscreen and Wi-Fi connectivity. Plus, the new Toyota Avalon has the ability to integrate with smartwatches/Alexa. Meaning it can enable remote starting, door locking and unlocking, and checking the fuel level. Additional features include wireless device charging ability and a total of five USB ports throughout the vehicle, so that everyone can enjoy their tech while they enjoy the ride.

The 2019 Toyota Avalon will be rolling into the lot in late Spring and we would love to give you a test drive. So come see us at Toyota of Greensburg in Pennsylvania to check it out – or take a look what we have in inventory for our 2018 Toyota Avalon’s here while you’re anticipating the arrival of the 2019 model. We look forward to doing business with you!
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Toyota of Greensburg is proud to donate and support this year’s Westmoreland Annual Walk. We’re honored and excited to contribute to such a great cause.
The 16th annual walk was held at Twin Lakes Park Pavilion on Saturday, October 7, 2017. Walkers were welcomed to participate individually or with a team to help raise awareness. The turnout for this event was fantastic. Numerous breast cancer survivors along with their supporters joined together to help make the walk a huge success.
Toyota of Greensburg celebrated the launch of the all-new 2018 Toyota Camry on Wednesday with An All-American Night with NASCAR legend Michael Waltrip. Completely redesigned for 2018, the Toyota Camry makes its exciting debut this month at Toyota of Greensburg. Our guests were able to get behind the wheel for a test drive of the all-new 2018 Toyota Camry while enjoying great food from J. Corks, local selections from All Saints Brewing Company and Greenhouse Winery, live music courtesy of Rob Roush, along with great company from the Toyota family.
Many lucky fans were able to meet and get an autograph from Daytona 500 Champion and NASCAR legend Michael Waltrip. Our charity raffle to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association — Greater PA Chapter was a huge success and helped raised money to support an excellent cause.
At the forefront of safety innovation and development among automotive manufacturers, Toyota has once again set the standard for safe vehicles. For 2017, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) chose 7 individual Toyota models that earned Top Safety Pick honors in the annual IIHS awards. 5 of these 7 models received 2017 Top Safety Pick+ designations, the best in the industry when combined with Lexus models.
In order to earn a 2017 Top Safety Pick award, vehicles are required to earn good ratings in five crashworthiness tests — small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, head restraint, and roof strength — along with an advanced or superior rating for front crash prevention. Automakers have had to meet more rigorous safety standards, including headlight evaluations which began in 2016.
Toyota of Greensburg donated $13,000 to Relay For Life, the signature fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. They are staffed and coordinated by volunteers in more than 5,200 communities and 27 countries. Volunteers give their time and effort because they believe it’s time to take action against cancer.
And so does Toyota of Greensburg.
Toyota of Greensburg will be at the upcoming Relay for Life event on June 11 & 12 at Hempfield High School. Come out and show your support!
